Lindsay M's Response:

After really listening to Barack Obama's speech a couple times,
I fully understood what he meant and how the issue; race, is still
a very lage problem globally not just in the United States. Race
is a key factor not just as in today, but throughout history. Yes the
rates have decreased, but it is still an issue we keep pushing
aside. Obama is trying to teach us if we keep pushing conflicts
and issues aside its soon or later just going to reoccur again.
Blacks back in the day were considered property, and whites
were considered there owners. Today, the issue of color is not
as big as a problem back then. But we still in some sort of way,
critize a different color or call someone of a different race a rude
name or give them a rude remark. Barack Obama is trying to change
all that. He wants to make this union a "more perfect union." By
"understanding reality." Many people would disagree on the topics
Barack Obama was presenting(on March 18, 2008), many people hate
change, but i am for one to agree. We can CHANGE for the BETTER!
And that was exactly what Obama was trying to get across. If more
and more people listen and get involved we can as a whole, change
for the better. I am for one all for this ideas. So if I was at the voting age
I would without a doubt vote for this educated opinionated man in the
election of 2009.
